Dubai: The Imperial Knights won the top honours in the men’s category while Delhi Private School also cornered some

of the limelight at the 10th Berry Hills Indian Basketball League that concluded on Friday.

Starting off as firm favourites, the Imperial Knights powered their way to a 74-62 win over Nucaf Beatrice for the men’s title, while a young DPS Sharjah stunned the fancied Earnest Eagles 51-44 for the women’s crown and DPS Dubai claimed the boy’s under-19 interschool honours with a 72-48 win over Our Own English High School, Sharjah.

Sameer K. Mohammad, Patron, IBS and Managing Director, Jaleel Holdings was joined by Suneel Aggarwal, Patron, IBS and Managing Director, GRP industries and Dr. Kedar Vartak, Managing Director, Dr. Kedar Dental Centre, Sharjah in distributing the prizes.

Now in its tenth year, the two-month IBS League was sponsored by Berry Hills with support from the KEF Company and Dr. Sunny Health Care Group.

Imperial Knights started with a 28-16 lead and never looked back as Shankar Vishwanath netted eleven points including three triples and Shashi Kumar scored nine in the opening quarter.

The Knights came up with a 16-13 run in the second period to enjoy a 44-29 lead at half-time. Beatrice looked better in the third quarter as they reduced the margin to 14 points (57-43). But that was as far as they could get as the Knights went on to win 74-62.
