Dubai: The Dubai Sports Council (DSC) will organise an exclusive Private Sector Basketball Championship for women at the Dubai International School, Al Quoz, from September 13-15.
Women residing in Dubai who are employed in the private sector in the UAE can participate in the championship.
The Organising Committee has stated that the last date for registration of teams and players is September 10. The competition is part of the DSC’s strategic goals of creating a comprehensive sporting community.
Applicants may fill the registration form and submit it to the DSC website www.dubaisc.ae or via e-mail: women@dubaisc.ae. The draws will be done on September 11.
Matches will be played daily from 4.30 pm onwards. Rules have been tweaked for the competition with each match spanning two halves of 15 minutes apiece.
Participating teams have to represent companies or private entities while each team required to submit a list of 12 players.
The winning team will receive Dh20,000 while the runners-up will get Dh15,000. The third place team stands to get Dh10,000.
