Dubai: Delhi Private School (DPS), Sharjah thwarted the last-quarter challenge of Nucaf Dubai and edged them out by three points (41-38) in the women division match of Berry Hills Indian Basketball League tournament played at Cambridge International School, Dubai.

DPS led the first quarter 10-8 while the second quarter was equal with both the teams scoring 11 points each. DPS had the upper hand in the third quarter and scored nine against seven points and surged ahead to a nine-point lead at the start of the last quarter.

Nucaf applied full court pressure during the last three minutes of play but could only reduce the margin to three points.

Nucaf scored 12 against 11 in the last quarter.

Juliet Johnny top scored for DPS with 18 points and Anita Teresa excelled for Nucaf by scoring 22 points.
