Sharjah: An offensive explosion and tough defence saw the All Stars crush the City Stars 88-55 in the deciding pool A match of Berry Hills 5th IBS League Tournament held at Al Shaab Club, Sharjah.
All Stars had 44 points by halftime and the 88 points was comfortably the highest score by any team in this year's IBS League.
All Stars scored 21-9 in the first quarter and continued the onslaught on the second quarter to score 23-14.
The second half yielded no miracles for the City Stars as All Stars continued to dominate the game as Manoj Abraham (20 points) and Bimal Raj (16 points) toyed with their opposition.
Lone bright spot
For City Stars Ajeeth Sugunan (22 points) was the only bright spot on as otherwise disappointing night for the City Stars as they recorded the biggest loss in the league tournament.
Hustlers have dealt a major blow to the Beatrice Zeroz' semi-final hopes by scoring a 77-62 victory over Beatrice. After a tight first quarter, 15-11, the Hustlers got some breathing space with a 21-13 second quarter.
Zeroz fought tooth and nail in the second half by scoring 15-17 in the third quarter and 23-24 in the final quarter.
Nithin Kumar top scored for Hustlers with 20 points. Jean Manaloor (14 points) and Shajahan (9 points) were the other significant contributors. Beatrice Melvin finished with 20 points while Joseph also reached double figures in the points tally.
