Dubai: Al Nasr inched closer to winning their first basketball league title after defeating arch rivals Al Wasl 96-91 in the first leg of the final at Rashid Bin Hamdan indoor sports hall at the Al Nasr club.

Al Nasr inched closer to winning their first basketball league title after defeating arch rivals Al Wasl 96-91 in the first leg of the final at Rashid Bin Hamdan indoor sports hall at the Al Nasr club.
Al Nasr showed a good performance and deserved to win, despite Al Wasl leading in the first and second quarters 23-19 and 48-42. Al Nasr recovered in the third and fourth quarters 69-68 and 96-91, with a fine display by Qasim Mohammad who was named the man of the match.
Also, Talal Mussabah and Talal Salim were outstanding with their three pointers and Al Nasr scored from 14 of them.
The second leg will be on Wednesday. If Al Nasr win they will be crowned champions, if not a decisive match will be played at the Al Nasr on March 30.
