Dubai: UAE equestrian's golden boy Sultan Saif Salem Al Khaili wants to dedicate his three medals to the leaders of and people of the country for their support and backing to special needs sportspersons.

"I want to give my three medals to President Shaikh Khalifa [Bin Zayed Al Nahyan], Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid [Al Maktoum] and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed [Al Nahyan] for constantly backing us special athletes in our quest for excellence," Al Khaili told Gulf News from Al Ain.

Al Khaili bagged two gold medals and a silver at the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games that concluded in Athens last week. "Now that I know what it feels like to win medals I can't stop. I want to train every day and compete among the best in the world," Al Khaili promised.

In fact the 30-year-old was scheduled to turn up for training at the Al Ain Club for Horse Riding on Tuesday evening. "I can see my future connected with this sport. I want to go further and win many more honours for my country," he promised.

"I can see a lot of hard work along the way if I want to achieve this objective, and now after Athens I feel I am ready to take this plunge. I think that the challenges now lie for me out of the UAE," Al Khaili added.
