Dubai: Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, yesterday met with Maura Strange, Secretary-General of the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sport Federation (IWASF).
Maura is accompanied by a delegation that will be participating in the opening ceremony of IWASF's World Junior Games 2011, taking place in Dubai on Sunday.
During the meeting, Maura expressed her appreciation to the UAE Government, people and institutions for supporting the games.
Shaikh Maktoum welcomed Maura and her delegation, and instructed the organisers to provide all the necessary facilities to the game's participants, and to work towards the success of the games and its objectives.
Mattar Al Tayer, Vice-Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, Mohammad Al Hamili, Chairman of the UAE Disabled Sports Federation, and other senior officials were also present.
