Doha: Egypt continued to top the medal standings of the 12th Arab Games after increasing their tally to 61 on Tuesday, while Qatar stayed in second and the UAE fell two places after failing to win a single medal on the fourth day of competition.
Egypt have collected 28 golds (13 of them on Tuesday) in addition to 19 silvers and 14 bronzes. Qatar have 12 gold, nine silver and 13 bronze medals, while Tunisia maintained third place, hot on the heels of the hosts, as they have 11 golds, five silvers and six bronzes.
Saudi Arabia climbed to fourth place with seven gold, six silver and eight bronze medals, while Morocco stay fifth with six golds, five silvers and 15 bronzes.
The UAE, who were placed 12th at the end of the third day, fell back to 14th with one silver and four bronze medals so far. The emiratis' bowling trio was expected to add another medal, but the team failed to meet expectations.
