Dubai: Dream Jumping, although on an experimental basis, will be the latest offering to cement Dubai’s position as the prime destination for adventure activities.

Organised by Skydive Dubai in association with Never Before Events, the ‘Dream Jump’ experience – a part of ‘Dream Walker Around the World in 80 Jumps’ expedition – will be held at the Princess Tower in Dubai Marina from April 13 to 19.

A special jump platform has been set up from the 99th floor of Princess Tower, the tallest residential tower in the region.

Unlike bungee jumping, which involves jumpers bouncing up and down after the jump, the dream jump provides jumpers with a longer free fall and with a landing very similar to that of a base jump without using a parachute.

“Dream Jumping is yet another first for Dubai. This is an experimental stage for us. We will see how people respond to this. We will gauge how safe it is and after that we will take to call to see if we want to make this a permanent addition to our adventure activities,” Nasser Al Neyadi, Chairman, Skydive Dubai, told Gulf News.

“With a jump height of 400 metres, Dream Jump Dubai will break all barriers of rope jumping and enable people to experience base jumps against one of the most iconic skylines in the world,” he added.

Dream Jump Dubai will use multiple zip lines totalling over 10km of rope, suspended high over Dubai Marina. “Such an event has never been attempted before inside a city. I have met so many skydivers from across the world who have always looked at jumping from a vantage point like the Princess Tower. Next month many of these adventure seekers will see their dream become a reality,” Zarir Saifuddin, Partner, Never Before Events, noted.

To oversee the entire experience, Thomas Zielinski, co-founder, Dream Jumping, will be at hand throughout the week. Since 2009, Zielinski and his Dream World Company have completed over 20,000 jumps in five countries.

Like all events organised by Skydive Dubai, residents and visitors to Dubai are being encouraged to try out dream jumping by visiting Skydive Dubai’s social media channels or by registering at the booth that will be specially set up at the venue next week.
