Incheon, South Korea: The UAE's Shaikh Juma Bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum won the bronze medal in the men's double trap at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games here on Thursday.

Facing Qatar's Rashid Al Athba in the bronze medal match, Shaikh Juma had a score of 29 out of maximum 30 while the Qatari shot 28 targets.

Earlier, Shaikh Juma had missed out on a place to challenge for the gold medal match after missing two targets, on the eighth and the 28th in the six-men final.

"I am a bit disappointed that I have not been able to go one better than my silver in Guangzhou. But finally, a medal is a medal and I am glad that we will see the UAE flag flying for the first time at these Games during the podium ceremony," Shaikh Juma told Gulf News.

Silver medal

Four years back, Shaikh Juma had given the UAE a medal start by winning the silver at the Guangzhou Asian Games, after the country went on to clinch another four medals.

China's Hu Binyuan took the men's double trap gold with a total of 26 out of 30 while Kuwait's former two-time Asian Games gold medallist Fehad Al Dhehani had to once again settle for the silver.

Two days back, Al Dhehani had dominated to eventually take second place in the men's Trap.
