Washington: Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams has agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Washington Redskins, reported on Saturday to be worth $66 million (Dh242 million).

“Happy to announce I will be a Redskin for the next 5 years,” the 27-year-old said on Twitter. “This is a dream come true HTTR (Hail to the Redskins) 4 Life.”

NFL.com reported the deal makes Williams the highest paid offensive tackle in NFL history.

The website cited Williams’ agent in reporting the deal pays him an average of $13.2 million per year, with $43.25 million in guarantees.

Williams just completed his fourth season as an offensive captain for Washington and has been among the league’s top left tackles since he was selected fourth overall in the 2010 NFL Draft.
