Houston: Wide receiver Andre Johnson came back to haunt his former team as the Indianapolis Colts won their third straight game with a 27-20 victory over the Houston Texans on Thursday.

Johnson, who was released in the offseason after spending 12 seasons with the Texans, caught touchdown passes of four and two yards.

His six catches in Thursday’s contest moves him past Isaac Bruce into eighth place on the all-time National Football League list.

The Colts (3-2) won their 16th straight intradivision game with their last lost in the division coming on December 2012 at Houston.

Matt Hasselbeck, who started in place of the injured Andrew Luck, completed 18 of 29 passes for 213 yards with no interceptions. Colts running back Frank Gore added 98 yards on 22 carries, including a three-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter.

Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer, who entered midway through the second quarter, engineered four scoring drives and threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns on 24-of-31 passing.

However, his interception with 1:45 to play help seal the loss. Houston also were undone by 13 penalties for 125 yards.

Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins finished with 11 catches for 169 yards.

Luck, despite practicing on Tuesday, was inactive for a second consecutive game.
