Miami: Miami Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan is to be suspended for the entirety of the upcoming 2015 season after violating the NFL’s drug policy for the third time in two years, reports said on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old linebacker is facing a season on the sidelines after a sample was found to be diluted, indicating he may have been attempting to mask a substance in his system, NFL.com reported.

Jordan will not appeal the latest suspension to stall his career, reports said, which comes after he was suspended for six games last season for separate offences.

He was initially banned for the opening four games of the 2014 campaign after testing positive for a banned performance-enhancing substance.

That penalty was later rescinded after two matches, but a further violation forced him to miss four more games later in the year.

Jordan has largely disappointed for Miami since being snapped up as the top defensive player in the 2013 draft, recording just three sacks and 46 tackles in 26 games over two seasons.
