Abu Dhabi: The Emirates American Football League (EAFL) will host its third annual Desert Bowl to decide the American football champions in the UAE across four divisions at Dubai Sports City on Friday.

The men’s game will pit first-place Dubai Barracudas (6-2) against crosstown rivals and second-placed Dubai Stallions (5-2-1), with the winner taking home the Desert Bowl III crown.

The Barracudas beat the Al Ain Desert Foxes to reach the championship match, while the Stallions overcame two-time defending champions Abu Dhabi Wildcats to secure their spot.

Desert Bowl III marks the Dubai Barracudas’ first appearance in the championship game. The Dubai Stallions have played in all three Desert Bowl championships, but have been defeated in their last two appearances.

Varsity division (ages 15-18), Junior Varsity (ages 12-14) and Pee Wee (ages 8-11) division champions will also be determined on the day.

The action kicks off at 12.30pm and will take all place all day until 9.30pm at the Sports Village’s Rugby Park pitch one.

The Pee Wee Division matches begin at 12.45pm, followed by the Junior Varsity Division at 2.15pm.

The Varsity Division follows at 4.15pm, culminating in the main event, the Men’s Division finale, at 6.30pm.
