Sharjah: A ladies’ organisation in Sharjah plans to volunteer to renovate dozens of houses in Sharjah.

Taking place from July 30 to August 24, the initiative will see 800 girls from Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah participate in the renovation of houses in Sharjah, Kalba and Khor Fakkan.

The girls will help repair and restore the houses so that the occupants can enjoy decent living standards, as part of the summer camp that is being organised by Sajaya — a subsidiary of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators.

“Volunteering is one of the most important values that we aim to instill in our girls, as it promotes strong community cohesion,” said Shaikha Aisha Khalid Al Qasimi, director of Sajaya.

“Our members are committed to this endeavour and it will be both giving back to their society and reinforcing the importance of selflessness.”

The plan is part of the group’s initiatives for the nationwide Year of Giving programme.
