Rishad Erakkath pulled out his lens to frame the monument of love when he recently went to India to play at a national-level basketball tournament. He said: “We were taken to Taj Mahal, Agra, for a short sightseeing trip. I wanted to capture the monument from a different angle rather than the usual front face with the gardens.” Taj Mahal was built in the 17th century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took 22 years and the labor of 22,000 workers to construct the monument. This world heritage site is recognised as the masterpiece of Mughal art in India. Erakkath said: “For me, Taj Mahal is the evergreen sign of true love.” Image Credit: Rishad Erakkath
