Deepika Padukone: While we are enjoying her coronavirus lockdown videos on cooking, cleaning and working out, we are truly missing Padukone on the big screen. Her next film 83, starring her real-life husband Ranveer Singh, is a biopic on cricket legend Kapil Dev and she plays his on-screen wife Romila. According to sources, Padukone has injected grace and dignity into her brief role in this biopic likely to release in June 2020. Reports have also emerged that she will soon work with director Shakun Batra in his new film as she loves his kind of sensible cinema.

Ranbir Kapoor: We weren’t a fan of Raj Kumar Hirani’s ‘Sanju’, a gleaming biopic on tainted actor Sanjay Dutt. But there was no denying that Kapoor was fantastic in the title role. His next film is with director Ayaan Mukerji and it’s a sci-fi adventure Bhramastra, also starring his girlfriend Alia Bhatt and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. Director Mukerji and Kapoor who are best friends in real life gave us some of Kapoor’s best cinematic gems including ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and ‘Wake Up Sid’ and work well together. If there is one director who can bring out the best in Kapoor, it’s Ayan. Bhramastra Part 1 is slated to release on December 4. He will also star in director Luv Ranjan’s Shamshera, tentatively slotted for July release.

Kangana Ranaut: While we love her lockdown musings as she stays home and indoors in her native town in North India, we can’t wait to see her play the controversial and revered politician Jayalalithaa in her new biopic ‘Thalaivi’. The late chief minister of Tamil Nadu, who began her career as an actress, has led an interesting life and Ranaut will make it her business to bring her story alive. “After Manikarnika, this is my second biopic, and I am honoured to portray such a strong lady. Her personality was very different from anything I have portrayed earlier. It’s very gratifying to play someone who was so determined, persevered but had a silent strength which distinguished her from everyone else,” said Ranaut in an earlier interview. Directed by A L Vijay, the movie will explore the life of of J. Jayalalithaa, late politician and film actress who served six terms as Tamil Nadu’s CM.

Taapsee Pannu: While she impressed us in her turn as a docile wife who files for divorce in ‘Thappad’ after her on-screen husbands slaps her at a party, we can’t seem to get enough of Pannu. She will soon be seen in a mystery Haseen Dillruba, directed by Vinil Mathew. The film also stars our all-time favourite Vikrant Massey and Hansika Motwane. It was scheduled for September 2020 release, but is likely to be postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.
