I want to raise this issue that has been bothering me for a while.

Sewage water flows out over the road in the Umm Ramool area, in Dubai, near the Emirates Metro Station 1 (as seen in photograph).

The leakage is from two places. One is from the overflowing sewage. But, the other one seems to be a leakage in some pipe underground as the water is seeping out of the ground.

Sometimes it is so bad that it becomes difficult to walk on the road and motorists also have to slow down completely in order to avoid the water being splashed over the public.

A few days ago, I noticed a motorist drive through the water at a fast speed. The dirty water splashed over the people who were walking nearby. This incident was the main reason why I thought it was time to raise the issue.

During the weekend, the leakage seems to reduce as the water consumption in the area is lesser. But, during the week, the problem persists.

There are many companies and industries in the area. With a Metro station nearby, the people who work in its vicinity have to cross this road to reach it and the leakage makes it difficult for people to even take the Metro.

Even I use the Metro and walk past this area every day when I’m headed home.

It would be great if the concerned authorities look at this issue and take the necessary action to sort it out.
