Irresponsible

Aravind Kejriwal’s method of protest is irresponsible and unprecedented. In the past, no responsible government authority has ever acted like this (‘Unrepentant Kejriwal in standoff with Delhi police,’ Gulf News, January 21). Their conduct is condemnable given that the Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor had already ordered a judicial inquiry into the conduct of the police. Kejriwal and his ministerial colleagues have no discipline and have failed to control themselves in contrary situations. Such drama in the name of people’s right is impertinent. Defying bans that lead to massive traffic blocks is simply hindering the commute of the people. Kejriwal and his council of ministers made themselves a laughing stock and proved unfit for efficient running of their offices. People of Delhi have elected the Chief Minister to address and solve their woes, not to add to them.

Act wisely

Arvind Kejriwal did not become a Chief Minister on his own. People voted for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to bring a change in the Indian political situation. However, AAP didn’t have a candidate qualified enough to become the Chief Minister of Delhi. I understand that AAP competed in the election without any wise thought.

Administration not agitation

It’s a sad situation when a Chief Minister is acting in such a cheap way. As per AAP If I dont like my neighbour I should take the law in my hand and break into the house of the neighbour, rather than talking to him or acting responsibly. The political situation in India is going out of hand, wherein any political party, person or a media channel can act this way. We salute democracy, because of the freedom it gives to people in our country. But, please don’t regress. We want to move forward and work on prosperity, peace, intellectual dialogue and development. I respect Kejriwal and AAP, as they gave a wake up call to the entire country, its citizens and politicians. However, now that people have chosen to give an opportunity to AAP to deliver, they must make use of it. They must be careful that they don’t make those who have voted for them, regret their decision. My sincere advice as a responsible citizen of India is that AAP should now look into managing Delhi through proper administration not through agitation.

A better country

Finally India has a real man, who is willing to stand up for what is right and is trying to make India a better country. Let’s see if he can earn the support of the people to finally eradicate corruption amongst politicians and police.

Be patient

Kejriwal has issues. I don’t know how he became the Chief Minister of Delhi. Blocking roads leading to traffic congestion and chaos is simply unnecessary and a waste of time. I think the government is taking action, but Kejriwal doesn’t want to understand the same.

No courtesy

Often while shopping at a supermarket I have noticed that the frozen and refrigerated items have been picked from their shelves and left out by some irresponsible shoppers (‘Don’t leave frozen food outdoors, consumers warned,’ Gulf News, January 23). It’s not the employees of the supermarket who are responsible for this, but the consumers who pick up particular items and later decide not to buy them. They are the ones who leave these items in odd places. By the time the employee or anyone who finds the item and takes it back to the designated shelf, the item has lost its original temperature and could be spoilt. Once the item is placed back in the fridge, another customer ends up buying it, without realising that it could be contaminated. So, please respect others and have the courtesy to place the items back to their designated shelves if you decide not to buy them. Another tip while shopping is to buy the dry food first on the list and then move to vegetables, fruits, dairy products and lastly the refrigerated items. Also, If you know that you will be a while before reaching home, keep a permanent icebox in your car where you can store the frozen items. Take these safety measures and you will not end up in trouble.

Be responsible consumers

It’s not only the manufacturer’s and the retailer’s responsibility. The consumers should understand their responsibility while purchasing any kind of frozen products and also see the manufactured and the expiry date as well.

Thank you note

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Dubai Municipality for taking prompt action and Gulf News for supporting the cause and spreading awareness on such unfortunate events. I would also request the consumers of UAE not to hold back and report such events for the health safety of everyone. The most shocking part is that we have been using the same product at home for years. I hope that the manufacturer obtains higher quality in the future.
