Stop honking!

I live in Duabi in Muhaisnah 4, an area where people simply lack civic sense. I wasn’t to share this incident with all readers so that people are aware and start being little more responsible. At around midnight my entire family woke up because a driver was continuously honking down our building. He went on continuously for a few minutes. This ‘noble’ driver was trying to wake up the watchman of the building as the parking gate sensor was not working for him. If the driver would have some common sense he could have simply walked to the watchman’s hut and done the same rather than honking continuously and waking up the entire neighbourhood. But, his laziness and selfishness kept him seated in the car. If the driver is reading this letter, I want to tell him that Muhaisnah is a residential area that houses people of all age groups, waking them up in the middle of the night for such a small thing is simply wrong. Just in case he didn’t realise, I want him to know that we there are no sound proof residences in UAE.

Very congested

This is a serious issue. I would like to bring this issue to the attention of kind concerned authorities. New car parking areas are being built in Mussafah, Shabiah block 10, 11 and 12, Abu Dhabi. I request Gulf News to visit the site if they can. The parking spots being built are so narrow that it is difficult to fit the car in that space. After trying a number of times, when one manages to park his or her car, it is difficult to open the door without hitting the car parked next to them. It is very congested. Basically, residents and cisitors will be paying a parking fee for insufficient parking space for their car. This is not right. Kindly look into this issue.

Safety on Al Ain road

The road going from Dubai to Al Ain that divides Dubailand and Silicon Oasis has a speed limit of 120kmph. This stretch is often used by heavy vehicles to commute. A speed limit of 120kmph is like an open invitation for accidents. Furthermore, there are bus stops in the area. But those who get off the bus have to run across to road to cross it as there is no underpass or a footbridge. There are no bus shelters either. A solution needs to be found at the earliest. We cannot afford to loose more lives.

Empowerment of women

First I would like to say congratulations to Fatima on her technological achievements (‘Emirati woman renovates PowerPoint,’ Gulf News, January 20). It is commonly said that if you teach a man something, you are teaching only one person. If you teach a woman then something, than you are teaching an entire family. But, Fatima’s interest and achievement will make a difference to the entire world. I wish her all the best for her future projects. She has laid down the foundation stone of empowerment of Muslim women in the world.

Bridging the gap

It is very inspiring to read such articles and congrats to the clever woman who has used her time well to dream of this innovation and finally achieve it. She has every right to present her side of story about veiling of women in the Arab society, which most people in non-Arab countries are doubtful about. Such incidents help to bridge the gap of humanity around the world.

Congratulations

I send my heartiest congratulation to Fatima for making a mark in history and being recognised by the world. I commend her dedication and hard work of long years to research and finally get it right. Apart from you’re her intelligence, I admire her soft personality and generous thoughts for humanity. Her thoughts for a good future of young women are worthy of a loud applaud. I believe this is just one tip of the iceberg for her and there are many more success stories to follow. Wishing Fatima all the success and happiness in life!

It’s not the culture

Still some people argue that men and women who have partially adopted the western culture and way of thinking are the ones who will achieve something in life. Fatima have proved them wrong. Congratulations to Fatima for her lofty achievements! I pray that she reaches greater heights.
