Kardashian on Syrian conflict

This is horrible journalism (‘Kim Kardashian wades into Syria war debate,’ Gulf News, April 2) by the reality TV star. She should learn objectivity and support her point with valid proof. The Armenians fled the town, but there is no proof that Syrian rebels desecrated the churches. People like her are the reason that negative emotions get fomented and result in violence against communities.

Nothing more to say!

Words of wisdom from a Kardashian! The time has really come for us to ‘Google’ where we’re heading.

Biased conduct!

This tweet by Kim Kardashian is a sad message to Syrian president Bashar Al Assad that he can kill thousands from the majority of the people in Syria. However, do not touch anyone from other sects. This is racism. She was silent about the huge number of Syrian children who were killed and being handicapped. Shame on her, if she can only see the suffering of her people. A ‘thank you’ to Angelina Jolie.

Not intelligent

The Syrian conflict is destroying the country. People are dying from poverty, violence and lack of healthcare. Children are one of its biggest victims. Bashar Al Assad continues unfazed by this mass scale brutality. His eyes are on the prize and no amount of blood will deter him from keeping it in his grasp. In the middle of this, for Kim Kardsahian to pick an isolated topic is a terrible tragedy. She’s a well-known star and her tweet would be read by many. This was an opportunity to do some good, promote social consciousness. But, she took a limited perspective and failed to see the big picture. I’m sure she would get upset if you called her un-intelligent to her face, she would think it is offensive. However, what choice are you left with when she behaves in this manner? Perhaps she needs to occassionally check out of the warped glamour bubble she cocoons herself in and witness the life of a child in a camp suffering because of ill-health and lack of medical care. Maybe then, she just might tweet the bigger truth.

Dangerous

The citizen reporting feature of the application sounds dangerous (‘Newly updated Dubai Police app is a huge hit,’ Gulf News, April 2). How will the police confirm that the picture was not staged or was not reported out of context?

Great feature

The best feature of this application is that people can submit photos of traffic violations.
