Willing to help, always

Thank you Gulf News and to the other two people who helped the family reunite (‘Gulf News readers go out of their way to reunite family,’ Gulf News, January 8). I want to tell Gulf News and all other readers that I am willing to help anytime. Thank you everyone for appreciating. I am glad that Adeel Afzal finally met his family. He is lucky to have a loving father. I haven’t met my father since I was born. I had tears in my eyes when I saw the family together. It shouldn’t matter what nationality anyone is, people should always try to help each other. Send good wishes to everyone. God bless us all.

Unity is adversity

My heart was sinking while I was reading this story. Afzal braved the rain and recent cold weather alone and confused. God bless the generous souls that assisted him to reunite with his family. I would also like to thank the Gulf News team for coming to his rescue. This is the warm spirit of the UAE, united in adversity.

Best news ever

Well done to all who helped. Thank you Gulf News, Balan, Julie and all others. When I read the full report in the print edition of Gulf News, it was one of the best news I have ever read, especially because most of the news nowadays focuses on violence and suffering.

Help others

Good job! I was almost in tears reading this news. Julie Palad is a friend of mine, we come from the same place in the Philippines. I am glad Gulf News took action and helped to reunite the family. So happy to know Afzal is finally with his family after six long days. I hope everyone learns from this and helps people in need.

Incredible!

I can understand the situation as my son is autistic. I have faced a similar problem in India. Thank you Gulf News, Julie Palad and Vinod Balan. This is incredible!

A helping hand

That is what we are — a helping hand in need always. I spotted Gulf News asking readers to help on Facebook, but I was helpless. I am glad Afzal is back home.

Not easy

Helping others isn’t always easy. It can sometimes derail your schedule, cost you time, money and other resources. It can even be interpreted the wrong way. However, hats off to all who helped.
