World should take decisive action against Israel

Israel committed war crimes during its war on Gaza this summer and those crimes must be investigated, according to Amnesty International. While this is an important finding by Amnesty, official observations are not enough. It is time for the international community to take decisive action against the criminals because mere observation and condemnation is just a slap on the wrist. Israel deserves more than that. The evaluation of heinous acts, which were initiated deliberately by Israel, should serve as a mirror so that the rest of the world can digest the horrible facts on the ground.

Justice should not be delayed. The idea and actions designed to carve out a Jewish state should be spurned by the global community as it comes at the cost of spilling Palestinian blood and usurping what rightfully belongs to Palestinians. There must be accountability for what is being judged to be a ‘collective punishment’ against the people of Gaza with a view to destroying their families, homes and livelihoods. Israel believes that it can beat the Palestinians into submission, but the Palestinian state is being recognised by more and more European countries, giving a symbolic boost to their just case. This should serve as a reminder to the offenders that soon they will have everything to lose.
