It is ridiculous that the far-right party has reacted so badly to Khan's comments

The Shiv Sena reaction to Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's comments in support of the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the Indian Premier League is ridiculous to say the least. That movie theatres across Mumbai where his latest film, My Name is Khan, will be shown are being attacked shows how petty-minded the party is in its approach.
Khan needn't apologise to anyone for his comments. He is entitled to his own views in a democracy like India. In fact, it takes a brave Indian public figure to come out in support of Pakistani cricketers at a time when there are tensions between India and Pakistan. His message is one of tolerance and is devoid of an ideological stance. It is shared by many in both countries.
Moreover, the Shiv Sena mentality is destructive to the Indian political system and its viewpoints are very insular. There is no room for parties like this in India.
