The recent announcement of major future road projects in Abu Dhabi sets the emirate on the right track. Given the various projects that are being carried out and the expansion in the infrastructure, a safe, modern, and reliable road system is essential for linking the city with its surroundings.

According to officials, the new road projects would have a high impact on Abu Dhabi's mainland, transforming it into "Greater Abu Dhabi" as per the government's 2030 plan that had been previously outlined. The recent decision is timely, as its implementation would be carried out as other projects are being executed. This aspect would prove to be critical if the city is to avoid problems resulting from an urban environment that is on the road to expansion. The new roads would surely be an easy ride if city planners take into consideration all the variables arising within the next two decades.
