Giving the public what they want
The popularity of Sharia-compliant hotels is gaining pace in the UAE.

When the UAE adopted its first Sharia-compliant hotel, many expatriates predicted its rapid downfall, claiming the hostelry would fail to meet guests' demands. The reasoning was that without alcohol, patrons would not visit because of the absence of bars and an inability to purchase a drink with a meal.
In fact it has been shown to be the very reverse as more and more Sharia-compliant hotels have opened up in the UAE, with particular emphasis on Dubai.
Interestingly, this is because it is not only Muslims who frequent these hotels, but also the many who are non-drinkers, and families who prefer a secure environment and are therefore reassured in knowing they will not be confronted by guests or visitors who may be offensive because they are inebriated.
There is also the benefit that a Sharia-compliant hotel ensures a certain level of decency and grace.
