Beyond warmth and comfort, clothes give people confidence and dignity. This is the importance of the success of the ‘Dress one million needy children’ campaign, which after just eight days was well on the way to meeting its target, thanks to the generous support of residents of the UAE.

Syrian and Palestinian children in refugee camps in Lebanon are among those who will benefit from the campaign.

The campaign was launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It will end on Ramadan 19 to coincide with Emirati Humanitarian Work Day, an annual event held in memory of Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

But, because of the great need across the world, the charity work of the government and other organisations in the UAE continues throughout the year. Emirates Red Crescent and Dubai Cares, among others, are constantly working to improve the lives of the less fortunate and the government has sponsored many infrastructure and other development programmes in other countries.

Helping a single child makes a difference in the world and the people of the UAE are sharing their good fortune with many families.
