David Cameron, the UK Prime Minister blasted the Israelis for their despicable and inhumane actions against the people of Gaza. In reference to the situation there, Cameron stated that "Gaza cannot and must not be allowed to remain a prison camp. People in Gaza are living under constant attacks and pressure in an open-air prison."

Coming from a western leader, a show of sympathy often rare and wanting for Palestinians, his remarks underscored the height of brutality that the Israelis have risen to in recent years with their unchecked crimes against humanity.

However, in the week that they were being blasted by the UK Prime Minister, US House of Representatives Congressman Louie Gohmert, a Republican from Texas, introduced House Resolution 1553 which supports the right of Israel to "use all means necessary to confront and eliminate nuclear threats posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran…"

The resolution is co-sponsored by 46 Congressmen, all Republicans. But that is not the end of the story. This resolution was bankrolled through the back room and covert lobbying efforts of The American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (Aipac), an organisation working in the US for the promotion of Zionist interests worldwide.

Aipac had played a key role in fomenting support for the US invasion of Iraq. Neo-cons on its payroll but working in the US government alarmed the world with their constant bleating about weapons of mass destruction, a charge never substantiated but which has come at a tremendous cost in human suffering to the Iraqi nation.

An organisation dedicated to the promotion of Zionism, Aipac had also heavily lobbied the US Congress to support the annexation wall surrounding Palestinian villages and lands, thus depriving them of their basic needs to work, to receive proper medical care, and to harvest their own land.

Goldstone report

Richard Goldstone's 2009 United Nations sponsored fact finding mission on the Gaza conflict was quickly rejected by an Aipac orchestrated US House Resolution No 867, which attacked the Goldstone Report and dismissed Israeli war crimes against the people of Gaza, in another example of how deep into US politics have Aipac's tentacles reached.

Aipac today boasts of over a hundred thousand members and counting, many in key US departments and the US media. And it is these silent soldiers who promote the blueprints that promote Zionist interests within US governments past and present, manipulating and distorting facts and spreading enough misinformation to create fear and achieve their goals.

With Iraq crippled and the dust barely settled down, Aipac began a series of doomsday scenarios, willingly carried out by their cohorts in the US media against the danger that Iran has become to the free world.

Aipac had played a heavy hand in choreographing US House and the Senate for voting in favour of the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability and Divestment Act of 2010.

This legislation, which passed the Senate by a vote of 99-0 and the House by a vote of 408-8-1, is the toughest piece of Iran sanctions legislation ever to emerge from Congress.

Today, it has Iran under its scope. And what better way to do it than through the willing party members of the US government such as Louie Gohmert and his like.

The same Gohmert I may add who stated that US national security was at risk from a terrorist plot involving pregnant women flying to the US on tourist visas to have their babies, thus granting the newborns US citizenship, and then returning home to raise their little US citizens to someday come back and ‘blow us all up.'

In supporting a military strike against the people of Iran to further Israel's cause, Aipac is exposing US interests in the region as well as elsewhere to irreparable damage if and when such an event occurs. America, beware. Aipac does not bode well for you in the long term.
