Shaikh Khalifa City foundation stone layed

2005 - Palestinians reacted with joy at the generous initiative of UAE President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who ordered a city with all amenities be constructed on the former Israeli colony of Morag in the southern Gaza Strip. Alaa Abu Zaid, 33, said the Shaikh Khalifa City’s initiative came as expected from a leader who is known for his generosity and honest feelings for the Palestinian people. The UAE has always been and is still standing by the Palestinian people. The foundation stone-laying ceremony was the most important event in the city. With a new city being built, the Palestinians are looking forward to seeing their long-standing dream come true. Ebrahim Abu Humaid, 44, said: “The UAE always supports the Palestinian people.”
