Zayed and Qaboos discuss post-war security
1991 - President His Highness Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan held talks in Muscat with Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed on post-Gulf War security in the region. Shaikh Zayed, who is on a three-day official visit, also discussed the status of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Middle East peace process and bilateral ties. Shaikh Zayed arrived in Muscat to a full ceremonial welcome. After the President disembarked from the plane, he greeted Sultan Qaboos with a brotherly embrace. Following a 21-gun salute, the national anthems of the two countries were played. Then Shaikh Zayed, accompanied by Sultan Qaboos, inspected the guard of honour. A large crowd had lined up the route leading to Al Alam Palace to welcome Shaikh Zayed.
