Spain pledged its continued support for Arab rights during the official UAE-Spanish talks which started in Abu Dhabi between President His Highness Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and King Juan Carlos of Spain who is on a three-day official visit. The two leaders held a closed session of discussions at Al Mushrif palace and Rashid Abdullah, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, said that they reviewed and evaluated the current Arab and international issues and bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. Talks also started between the two sides on lesser levels. Rashid Abdullah said the two delegations discussed Arab issues and recent developments in the Middle East, and the Spanish side was briefed on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) set up in Abu Dhabi. The step was lauded by the Spanish side. The meeting also dealt with the situation in the Middle East and international and European developments in general.
