Every country’s future is pivoted on the axis of opportunities. The greater the emphasis on defining these opportunities, the better is the outcome. A new study titled The Economic Graph UAE by LinkedIn, the world’s largest online professional network with more than 467 million members worldwide, has posted compelling findings on the UAE job market dynamics.
According to the report, tech-related skills have topped the findings, with six of the top ten skills for 2016 belonging to this category. Also, the data mined for the survey shows that 75 per cent of UAE universities’ graduates remained in the country and started their careers here.
These findings have tremendously positive implications for the country’s future. Technology today drives innovation and innovation resides in the heart of the UAE’s goal-setting. The burgeoning demand for tech skills then is in perfect alignment with the UAE’s vision for itself as it helps close the skills gap in the country’s job market. Concurrent with this development is the fact that the UAE is able to successfully retain its graduates and integrate them into the job market.
There is no better indicator of national progress than the ability of a country to successfully absorb young, emerging human resource potential into its socio-economic fabric.
Other findings of the study hold equally significant import for the UAE. For example, the study shows that 58 per cent of the country’s workforce is currently employed by local companies, another powerful validation of the UAE’s success in consistently strengthening its grass-roots economy.
All the above, along with having the highest number of professionals in the Arab world with ‘happiness’ in their job titles, place the UAE where it matters the most — at the forefront, leading the way.
