As an educational tool, it has the ability to bring academic subjects to life and broaden the knowledge horizons of the young and old. However, there is much for parents to be concerned about in the wider world. There is content that is not appropriate for children and those who use the internet to stalk young people, among other dangers.
But it is not possible to keep young people off the internet. This will deprive them of a chance to develop skills necessary to survive and thrive in the modern world. However, technology exists to help parents monitor and control the access their children have to the internet.
