Building the future of Afghanistan is a long- term goal that would require tremendous effort and organisation between all the parties involved. As the ongoing fight against the Taliban maintains its designed strategy, it is crucial that any military operation should cause no harm whatsoever to the civilian population.

One of the recurring incidents is the rising death toll of civilians from the air strikes being carried out by Nato forces. Over the past months, the civilian death toll has just been increasing. Last Friday about 90 people were killed and wounded in one such attack, according to Afghan officials. Based on this, US commander of foreign troops in Afghanistan General Stanley McChrystal incident. "As commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), nothing is more important than the safety and protection of the Afghan people", McChrystal said.

Any investigation must be transparent and has to have an impact on the manner in which these strikes are carried out.
