Riyadh: A Saudi Foreign Ministry spokesman said his government has donated $50 million in relief to Haiti to cope with the devastating earthquake that hit the country two weeks ago.

Osama Al Naqli said on Monday this is the largest donation to Haiti made from the Middle East to date.

It is estimated that 150,000 victims have been buried by the government and that nobody knows how many bodies are in the rubble.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Haiti's prime minister and foreign ministers from a host of nations are meeting in Montreal on Monday to try to coordinate relief efforts in the international community's first meeting since the devastating earthquake.

Governments have pledged nearly $1 billion in aid to Haiti, according to media estimates.
