New Delhi: Indian police are awaiting the extradition from Dubai of three men and a woman who fled the country after stealing more than $1.4 million (Dh5.14 million) worth of diamonds from an international jewellery show.
Deven Bharti, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), Mumbai Police, said the four were arrested in Dubai following an Interpol alert, issued after the robbery at a stall at the India International Jewellery Show in Mumbai.

Bharti said on Wednesday that India has requested authorities in the UAE to extradite the four, three Mexicans and a Venezuelan, to India.
The 887 carats worth of diamonds belonged to the Dalumi Group, which was participating in the show.
Police studied closed circuit television footage of people visiting the stand in order to identify the suspects.
