Mumbai: Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama will be inaugurating the World Peace Festival to be attended by former super cop Kiran Bedi, eminent scientists and educationists on Sunday in Pune.
The event being organised by Tej Gyan Foundation (TGF), a Pune-based charitable trust, is a culmination of the year-long World Peace…Piece by Piece movement with programmes being organised across more than 50 cities in India and two countries, said the organisers.
The flagship event is being held in Pune with an expected audience of more than 100,000 to be present at the inauguration.
Called the Happy Thoughts World Peace Festival on 10/10/10, it will be a platform for various leaders and NGOs to showcase how world peace can be achieved step by step. The whole theme evolves 10 solutions for world peace that TGF is promoting.
The Dalai Lama is expected to give a talk on Peace among Nations while Bedi will dwell on Peace and Women with other speakers will include former special Central Bureau of Investigation director D R Kaarthikeyan, Dr Vijay Bhatkar, computer scientists, S B Mujumdar, Symbiosis International University Chancellor and Tami Simon, founder of Sounds True, a multi-media publisher dedicated to spreading spiritual wisdom.
