Dubai: A blanket of dust and sand is expected to sweep across the UAE this week, according to national weather forecasters.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that strong northwesterly winds will blow over the sea and into the country, which will pick up a significant amount of dust at times.
“[It will be] partly cloudy weather in general and hazy at times, with moderate to strong winds in general, especially over the sea and exposed areas, causing dust to blow at times,” said the NCM.
The UAE’s Storm Centre posted a satellite image of the weather condition in the region, which illustrated the current rainfall in Saudi Arabia that is expected to develop into a downpour during the next few days.
UAE weather stations will monitor any changes that may result from Saudi Arabia’s unstable weather.
