Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Saturday urged people heading to Dubai World Cup to start early to avoid delays due to unstable weather.
“Expected delay at the roads getting towards Meydan Street today, we advise the public heading to the #DubaiWorldCup to go before 3pm,” the authority said in a tweet.
The authority has arranged around 4,000 taxis for the racing event, it said.
A total of 6,400 parking slots have been reserved for people attending the racing event, the authority said in another tweet. The RTA has arranged 100 shuttle buses to take people from parking areas to the racing venue.
Also, the RTA is providing 50 buses from Meydan to Burj Khalifa and City Centre metro stations.
A team of RTA and Dubai Police officials have been deployed to manage the traffic at Meydan from 4pm to midnight.
