ABU DHABI: The Zayed Giving Initiative will send a voluntary mobile hospital to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and preventive services to the needy people in Sudan.

The gesture is part of an initiative to provide medical treatment to one million children and elderly people across the world. The mobile hospital will work under the supervision of Emirati and Sudanese voluntary doctors, and in partnership with the Saudi German Hospital, Dar Al Ber Society, Sudanese Voluntary Society and other voluntary associations.

The initiative is also part of the completion of humanitarian initiatives of the Zayed Giving Initiative which was established in 2002 aimed at providing medical treatment and so far has benefited more than 3 million children and elderly people. It also conducted more than 7000 open heart surgeries across the world.

The mobile hospital includes 15 beds, first aid and health care units, emergency care, surgery, sterilisation and medical equipment, intensive care units and other sections.
