Air Arabia’s initiative helps young cancer patients live out their dreams

Sharjah: Two Egyptian children, who are currently patients at the 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital in Egypt, were given the chance to live out their dreams by experiencing a day in the life of a pilot and flight attendant on an Air Arabia flight.
The airline’s ‘Hope is a waking dream’ initiative, which is in line with the UAE’s ‘Year of Giving,’ gave Mahmoud and Jana a day they will never forget.
The idea to surprise the children came about after a number of staff working for the airline, who are frequent visitors to the hospital, met Mahmoud and Jana.
The airline has made a video of the children’s journey available to the public by posting it on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HH_jjqQ2kc).
The 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital in Egypt was established in 2007 with the mission to provide children with cancer the highest quality family-centred care, and a chance for cure, free of charge and without discrimination. The hospital ranks the world’s largest in terms of capacity, which currently stands at 320 beds.
