Dubai: An Oryx got his horns caught in some construction net and Shaikh Hamdan came to its rescue.

On his official Instagram handle @faz3, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council posted a video where he can be seen helping an Oryx that got its antlers tangled in a mesh of net and plastic.

In the one minute video, Shaikh Hamdan tranquilises the animal and with the help of a few people, cuts the Oryx free from the binding, which was covering its eyes.

After regaining consciousness, the animal is seen running towards the rest of the herd.

The video was posted with the caption: “All good to go for this Oryx! Mission accomplished,” and it received 232,988 views in just an hour.

People appreciated Shaikh Hamdan for his kind gesture.

@ann._varghese commented on the video and said: “Poor Oryx it would have been so hard for it to move around. Good you helped, thank you guys for showing kindness to that Oryx.”

In the past, the numbers of the Arabian Oryx started decreasing and in it was the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who started conservation and protection efforts in the region. Because of these conservation efforts, today, the UAE today home to the largest population of Arabian Oryx in the world.
