Dubai: The latest internet craze has taken Dubai by storm, and now, sports stars are taking part in the "freezing" video.

The latest football match involving Al Wasl team and Bani Yas has grabbed the attention of residents, as fans (and a few football players) acted out the mannequin challenge in celebration of Al Wasl's victory goal.

Known as the Mannequin Challenge, this video craze has managed to get people imitating mannequins as they pose for the camera with music playing in the background.

Golf pros who flew into Dubai last week for the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates have also turned their mannequin challenge video into a local sensation.

The online video has so far received over 96,000 views, and was accompanied with caption: “Watch the European Tour stars take on the Mannequin Challenge as they prepare for the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai at Jumeirah Golf Estates. How many players can you name.”

Some of the players taking part in the challenge include Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson, to name a few.

Why do they all play the same music?

The craze first started when the American hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd were performing a concert in Denver and to the tune of the now popular mannequin song (called Black Beatles, which features fellow artist Gucci Mane), the entire crowd took part in the challenge.
