Dubai: A new collaboration between the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) and OnTime Government Services will help support victims of violence and abuse during the Year of Giving, it was announced.

DFWAC signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday with OnTime Government Services, a government services provider to domestic and international business organisations, to support victims of abuse and human trafficking by exempting them from paying fees for government services and providing them job opportunities and training.

Based on the agreement, victims at DFWAC, mainly those who cannot afford, will be exempt from paying fees for 30 government services every three months. It will also provide discounts up to 50 per cent on the fees if it exceeds that number.

The company will also work on providing employment opportunities and training for the victims, in addition to cooperating with DFWAC in financing their campaigns.

DFWAC and OnTime Government Services will also exchange experiences and collaborate to work on joint programmes and awareness campaigns that serve the community, in addition to providing training courses and specialised workshops for the company’s staff on issues related to domestic violence and child abuse.

Afra Al Basti, Director General of DFWAC, pointed out that such partnerships with various governmental and private bodies to support this group contributes to the stability and development of the society.

Al Basti added that this agreement ensures the confidentiality and privacy of all data of those dealing with DFWAC. A committee of the parties will be formed to follow up on implementation of it, thanking the company and its sponsors for their efforts in this field.

She added that victims of violence, including women and children, still need a lot of support from different segments of the UAE community, noting that in addition to the financial support that can be provided to them through Emirates Charity Portal |(www.ecp.ae,) they also need different types of support such as in health and education.

Faisal Abdul Karim, Director of Service Centres at OnTime Government Services, said the move was in line with the government’s good governance policies and their shared social responsibility to volunteer and serve the nation.
