Abu Dhabi: A number of unauthorised signboards have been removed from pavements and roadways in the capital’s Al Shamkha suburb, the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City announced in a statement sent today (April 28).

These signs had been put up without the required approvals, and were seen to be undermining the safety of roads and pavements in the area. In addition, they posed a threat to traffic safety as many of them obscured traffic directional signs for motorists.

Municipal officials therefore called on residents to obtain the necessary permits before installing signs, and to adhere to the relevant regulations.
