The morning of November 3 witnssed a large-scale celebration across the country to mark UAE Flag Day, an occasion which coincides with the anniversary of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s assumption of office as the leader of the country.
The UAE flag was hoisted at schools, government departments, ministries and by all members of the community across the country as a way to express love to the homeland and loyalty to the wise leadership.
The national occasion of UAE Flag Day is a moment of pride and joy for everyone as they raise the flag today to show their appreciation for the UAE.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai’s annual call to all members of the UAE community to launch a nationwide campaign to celebrate the UAE Flag Day today, also triggers this widespread participation among the entire community every year.
Shaikh Mohammad hoisted the UAE flag at Zabeel Park in Dubai in the presence of 20,000 students representing 120 nationalities on Thursday.
Meanwhile in Abu Dhabi, a full agenda of events is being held by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development on the occasion of UAE Flag Day.
The entire community was invited to take part in the celebrations for Flag Day this year for the next five days under the slogan “Raise it High… Raise it Proud” which will include a flag walkathon, operetta, radio contests, flag city, “Raise it high” campaign, and social media competitions, in addition to a number of other events in the ministry and shopping malls.

The activities will start with the Flag Walkathon with participation of more than 2,000 people from all segments of society starting from Al Jazira Club in Abu Dhabi to the National Theatre.
Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, will then hoist the UAE flag with those participating in the Flag Walkathon.
