His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received yesterday Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates at Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu’alla of Umm Al Quwain and Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah were received at the palace. Crown Princes, a number of Shaikhs and senior officials were also present. His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Friday offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Shaikh Rashid Mosque in the Zabeel area.

Shaikh Mohammad was joined by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance; Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and other Shaikhs and senior officials.

During the Eid Al Fitr sermon, Imam Omar Al Khateeb stressed that peace is the foundation of Islam and pointed out that Al Salam (meaning The Peace-Maker, The Peace, The Source of Peace and Safety) is one of the divine names of Allah Almighty.

He noted that in the Hadith — the traditions, or sayings of the Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon Him), the Prophet said, “O people! Spread the greeting of peace”, which in Arabic is ‘As-salamu alaykum’ and means ‘Peace be upon you.’

After the prayers, Shaikh Mohammad received well-wishers who called on him at Zabeel Palace to extend Eid greetings.

Shaikh Mohammad exchanged greetings with dignitaries, ministers, senior officials, police and military officers, citizens, expatriates and Muslim and Christian clerics.

In Abu Dhabi, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, performed Eid prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the presence of a large congregation.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed was accompanied by Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, besides other Shaikhs and senior officials.

Dr Mohammad Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, giving the Eid Al Fitr sermon, stressed that Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) had urged people to protect themselves from finta (times of trial and civil strife) by holding fast to the words of Allah, following the Holy Quran and obeying their rulers and, in doing so, achieve national cohesion and glory, bolster peace and stability, and make further progress.

Following the prayer, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers, whereafter prayers were offered for the soul of Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed then received well-wishers who called on him at Al Mushrif Palace to extend Eid Al Fitr greetings.

The well-wishers prayed to Allah Almighty to bless President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan with continued good health and well-being and to enable him to continue leading the UAE’s march to progress.

In Sharjah, His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Al Badea’ Musallah (prayer hall).

Shaikh Sultan was joined by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, other Shaikhs, senior officials and members of the Arab and Muslim communities.

The Eid sermon was delivered by Shaikh Aziz Bin Farhan Al Enezi. The preacher stressed that Islam promotes compassion, moderation and tolerance and rejects terrorism and extremism.

Following the prayer, Shaikh Sultan exchanged Eid greetings with Shaikhs, senior officials, dignitaries and other worshippers.

In Ajman, Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Shaikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi mosque in Ajman.

Shaikh Humaid was joined by Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Sheikhs, senior officials, dignitaries and members of the Arab and Muslim communities.

The Eid Al Fitr sermon was delivered by Shaikh Hussain Moeen Al Hosani, Director of the Islamic Institute in Ajman. The preacher stressed that Islam promotes compassion, besides strong social and family bonds. He urged Muslims to hold fast to the Holy Quran and Prophet Mohammad’s Sunnah (the Prophet’s recorded traditions and sayings).

Following the prayer, Shaikh Humaid exchanged greetings with worshippers.

In Fujairah, His Highness Shaikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Grand Musallah (prayer hall) in Fujairah City.

He was joined by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Shaikhs, senior officials, dignitaries and members of the Arab and Muslim communities.

The Eid Al Fitr sermon was delivered by Shaikh Hamad Al Kindi of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs And Endowments. The preacher stressed that Islam urges compassion with the needy, orphans and widows to strengthen social bonds.

Following the prayer, Shaikh Hamad exchanged greetings with worshippers.

In Umm Al Quwain, His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Shaikh Zayed Mosque in the city of Umm Al Quwain.

Shaikh Saud was joined by Shaikh Rashid Bin Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, Shaikhs, senior officials, dignitaries, citizens and members of the Arab and Muslim communities.

During the Eid Al Fitr sermon, preacher Mohammad Ebrahim Humaid stressed that Eid Al Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, provides an opportunity for continuing to show human compassion.

Following the prayer, Shaikh Saud exchanged Eid Al Fitr greetings with the congregation.

In Ras Al Khaimah, Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Grand Musallah in the Khuzam area. Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, also joined the prayers.

Shaikh Saud and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud were joined by Shaikhs, senior officials and members of the Arab and Muslim communities.

The sermon was delivered by Mohammad Abdullah Subai’an, who stressed that Eid Al Fitr provides an opportunity for Muslims to show compassion, love and respect to each other. He urged the congregation to uphold the noble values of Islam in order to promote love and prosperity. He also prayed for the soul of Shaikh Zayed.

Following the prayer, Shaikh Saud exchanged Eid Al Fitr greetings with members of the congregation.

Shaikh Saud also received well-wishers who came to Khuzam Palace to extend greetings on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

In Al Ain, Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, offered Eid Al Fitr prayers at the Al Nour Mosque in Al Ain City.

Shaikh Tahnoun was joined by Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, other Shaikhs and a number of officials.

Giving the Eid sermon, Nasser Saeed Al Shibli, a preacher from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, urged the congregation to help further compassion, tolerance and love.
