Dubai: Various government departments and financial houses are participating in the largest job fair, ‘Careers UAE 2015’, in Dubai offering job opportunities for Emiratis.

Dubai Health Authority

100 different job vacancies across different health care fields such as medical, nursing, paramedical and administration have been advertised at the DHA’s independent stand. The career fair presents an opportunity for Emiratis who wish to work in the health sector, in line with the DHA’s strategy to promote and support national development. Emiratis graduating from UAE-based universities do not require any previous work experience to begin a career with the DHA.

Dubai Customs

Dubai Customs unveils a new initiative known as Al Fanar which helps employees identify career paths to create functional integration at all levels in order to direct employees and the entire department to excellence. Through this initiative Dubai Customs strives to reach high levels of creativity and innovation. The department will introduce newly recruited employees to the technical and behavioural competencies in their respective careers. It will also allow them to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviour for their positions.

Emirates NBD

Emirates NBD provided an overview of its Emiratisation strategy to attract and empower talented UAE nationals to occupy complex job roles within the bank. Emirates NBD has also provided a talent development programme for university graduates known as Programme for Accelerated Learning (PAL) by offering on the spot interviews and admissions to successful applicants of the programme. The bank also provides a rigorous three-month training programme for high school students known as Al Misha’al programme.

Dubai Media Incorporated

Dubai Media Incorporated offers 100 jobs at this year’s UAE Career Fair for the nation’s youth. Employment opportunities are provided predominantly in the engineering and media fields with candidates undergoing interviews for positions on the spot. Dubai Media Incorporated reaffirms its commitment to the national strategy of supporting local talent and providing them with job opportunities. The company also provides its employees with scholarships should they wish to pursue higher studies. Dubai Media Incorporation has witnessed a significant increase in the number of Emiratis in the workforce over the years.

Dubai Government

Dubai Government’s campaign ‘We Are Dubai’ is one of the initiatives that aims at promoting a culture of innovation and creativity in the workplace. Also, it aims at developing human resources in Dubai Government. ‘We Are Dubai’ looks at recruiting and developing talents who wish to join the public sector. The Dubai Government Unified Platform showcased 1,500 job vacancies in 35 government bodies receiving wide interest from visitors. The platform also supports the government’s Emiratisation policy, one of the strategic priorities for UAE’s vision for 2021.
