Dubai: Inspections will be carried out by Dubai Municipality on the temporary markets found in Jebel Ali near areas with accommodation for workers.

Such campaigns are carried out to maintain Dubai’s standards since such markets portray an uncivilised image for the country.

These campaigns tackle random markets since much of the products sold have not been inspected and do not comply with the approved health requirements.

The inspection team found vegetables, fruits, fish, meat and chicken products past their expiry date sold in the market. Other foods contained substances and ingredients that are banned in the country. The products were confiscated and the team is working towards disposing of these commodities appropriately.

The environmental control sector in Dubai Municipality will be available for the public to file complaints or observations to protect the community from uncivilised behaviour. The Environmental, Health and Safety Control Sector strives to maintain the cleanliness of the city and will organise awareness campaigns to strengthen governmental and community ties.
