Sharjah: National Day celebrations have already kicked off in several cities in Sharjah with shows, performances and parades being organised to mark the occasion.
Khor Fakkan witnessed air show by the UAE Air force in addition to a military parade last Wednesday which was then followed by a celebratory rally of both Emiratis and residents in the city.
The Emirati Naval Forces had also showcased their prowess through a boat show that was popular with its audience and helped engage the entire city in celebrations.
Organised by the Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations, the festivities included folk performances, equestrian shows, a national operetta and a poetry night featuring some of the prominent local poets. The celebrations continued in the evening through film screenings, a photography exhibition and art workshops.
Similarly, In Kalba, national day events included air show and a poetry night led by prominent local poets.
In Dibba Al Hisn, the celebrations continued until November 24, with yet another parade that saw locals and residents chanting national songs around the city. The celebrations included several performances by local folkloric bands and culminated with a fireworks display in the evening.
